The Outsiders Anticipation Guide
1) Sometimes violence can be justified.
Agree/disagree: because violence is never the answer but sometimes either self defenseor life or death situations, violence is used to protect oneself.
2) Socio-economic issues aside, teenagers everywhere face the same problems.
Agree: because even if you live in China or Germany or America, kids/teenagers gernerally face the same problems though some are more severre than others. There's always a thought of fitting in, looking good, and friends/family among different religious beliefs and or wealth.

We don't ask to be heroes, it just sometimes turns out that way
Director: Ridley Scott
Actors: Ewan McGregor, Eric Bana, Josh Hartnett, Tom Sizemore, William Fichtner, Ewen Bremner, Orlando Bloom
Language: English
Producer: Jerry Bruckheimer
It’s October 1993 in Mogadishu Somalia. A group of elite U.S soldiers’ peacekeeping operation makes a tragic detour resulting in the US military’s single biggest firefight since Vietnam. A dramatic story based on actual events, this is a must see for all who’s war genre crazy! Amazingly realistic, this movie will bring you half way off your seat and almost ready to jump into the way yourself.
Black Hawk Down isn’t just about fighting in a bloody battle, but trying to survive to see another day. The US military’s mission to bring peace to Somalia became a mission to keep their soldiers alive. The crashing of many of the US military’s Black Hawks, helicopters, lead the soldiers to most of their deaths but what kept most of them alive was the will and strength of their fellow soldiers to never leave a man behind.
In my opinion, this movie shows a lot about teamwork and accepting death. I was mesmerized by how amazing the actors were in this film and how well it was all put together. If they had changed anything in this movie, it probably wouldn’t be as good. It also took my breathe away at how the movie impacted my perspective about warfare. When you hear the word ‘war’, guns and violence usually describe the images in your head but after watching this movie, I can think of so much more than just the killing of people.
All in all, I recommend this movie to anybody who enjoys a good war and action wild film because that’s exactly what you’d get.

James Anthony Nielsen of Senses Fail
James Anthony “Buddy” Nielsen was born on February 18, 1984 and is currently the lead singer of the rock band Senses Fail
Buddy grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey. His parents are Tom Nielsen and Lisa Brown who are both actors of the soap opera Guiding Lights and As the World Turns. He has two step brothers and one sister, Victoria. Buddy had a role as and infant playing “Anthony James Chamberlain” in the soap opera “Guiding Light” for a short time. During high school, buddy played defense on the Ridgewood maroons lacrosse team.
At age 18, Buddy formed the band Senses Fail in 2002. After posting an advertisement about the band a year earlier, Dan Trapp (the current drummer) Dave Miller and Garrett Zablocki who were brought by Dan joined the band. Bassist, Mike Glita, joined the band later forming Senses Fail.
Senses Fail first entered the studios in 2002 with producer John Naclerio. Later they released their first album known as “The Depths of Dreams” They collection sold well and they soon started touring. After they finished touring, they got together with ‘Save the Day’ producer, Steve Evetts to record their next album “Let It Enfold You”. For Buddy, it was painstaking work trying to say everything they wanted to say in all the right ways. Buddy explains, “We killed ourselves over and over trying to say what we wanted, and make the record the best it could be. I just feel like we got lucky to be where we are now, and now we have to prove ourselves and really earn it."
Senses Fail continues to rock the stage and show people they’re worth listening to. Nielsen says, “We just love making music and writing good songs. I feel like I've got a lot more to say and we've got a lot more to contribute. But even if things ended tomorrow, we've gotten 10 times further than we ever expected to get and that makes us feel like we've succeeded regardless of what happens from here on."
Buddy has various tattoos on his left hand, neck, and shoulders. The most famous tattoo Buddy has are the words “Follow Your Bliss” across his chest. These words are mentioned in a couple of Senses Fail songs including “Can’t Be Saved” and “The Irony of Dying on Your Birthday”. ‘Follow Your Bliss’ is what Joseph Campbell approved as to live the life you ought to be, enjoying it as it should.

PP NEWS (plants and planet)
On Sunday, Jeffery Hallow, 21, was reported stuck in a bush as he was bending down to pick up his hat. There have been various attempts to get him loose from the shrub. His neighbor, Dave Inger, reports seeing two men push Jeffery in the bush. Until we can hear the story from Jeffery, there will be no certain conclusion to how this tragedy has taken place. Signs will now be put around parks and various other places warning people to not enter bushes.

Agree/Disagree
1)Politics and political problems are a subject for adults to deal with.
-I agree because i think children should wait until they are old enough to understand political problems and politics.
2)All stories can have a happy ending if those involved work towards it
-I agree because if people work hard and put effort to achieve something they want or make a situation better, it isn't impossible. I also disagree because some situations are out of hand and can't be controlled by someone no matter how hard they might try.
3) Literacy (being able to read) is a form of freedom
-I agree because when someone who loves to read reads, they feel able to do anything like those in their book. Sometimes you might not be able to do certain things in reality but reading lets you express emotions and feelings you aren't able to normally express.
4)Civilizations without a written language cannot document history
-I disagree because before humans were able to write, they were able to draw. Cave paintings is a good example of documenting history through drawing and i believe that civilizations can document history very well without the need of a written language, even though it might be easier writing down history.

What happened during my summer, you ask?
Though I’ve been gone for quite some time now, I can still hear the waves crashing down on the beach of that very island I was trapped on for the summer. Sleeping on a bed for the first time in 2 months is like heaven, yet no different than the sand I could hardly sleep on those first days of the crash. Still fresh in my mind, I will explain to you my eventful summer.
It was a Tuesday afternoon, wind blowing through my beautiful long hair, and the smell of rain running up my nostrils. Being at the airport this late wasn’t what I had expected for the plane was an hour or so late. The outside of the airport seemed wet and damp; the beginning of the summer was slowly awakening this year, too weak to beat the savage winter. The site of that giant monster of a machine preparing itself for what would become a surprisingly short flight was over whelming. I entered the cockpit of the massive plane and sat myself down, looking around at the many unfamiliar faces. I would wait another 30 minutes till take off; reading would be the best choice of entertainment. The engines started up with a sleepy groan and we started to slowly, steadily, cautiously move from our original position. As the nose of our plane lifted from the ground, my stomach did not, leaving a sickening feeling. I glanced out the window as my eyes fell upon rain droplets trying to break into the plane.
I was awoken by a thud and then complete darkness. Stillness so still, heart beats seem to stop. The next of the events seem to be a blur, but as I can recall, blinded by light and heat within the plane, the only senses I had left was touch and a bit of my hearing. As the seats and the walls protecting me from the outside of the plane seemed to disappear, I was hurled out of my prison and into hell. The outside world was as insane as our thoughts, racing through our head as fast as this tragedy had happened. I crashed down to earth or ocean, closing my eyes before impact.
The taste of salt water in my mouth was strong, though my mouth seemed so dry. Opening my eyes, I prepared for the worst but was surprised at what lay ahead of me. For the first time in many hours, I can see color. I got up as slowly as I could, with pain only in my left thy, how could I have survived such a thing? I can see the shrapnel from unrecognizable remains of the plane, as well as mangled corpses. Without speaking a word all day, night fell as I lay back down in the same sandy beach I am now deserted on.
From what I know, a month had passed and I had learned how to survive in such harsh conditions. In the meantime, I had sighted a raft and was preparing for a long journey out at sea.
20 days at sea, my skin in blistered from the heat, lost at sea. Was this really what I deserve? My sight slowly failing along with the rest of my body, I was unaware of what was to come.
I had been found as quickly as I had been lost, or so it had felt. In the two months that I was pronounced dead I was found sun burned and still bruised, looking like an alien, unrecognizable to those who knew me. I can remember arriving home, walking to my house, even though my legs still swollen and strained, I felt able to run a thousand miles.

"Tell-Tale Heart" ANSWERS
Which media clip do you prefer, why?
I prefer the first one because it gives you chills down your spine listening to this man talk about murder. I prefer it because it gives you a good feeling of how this man felt through his voice and a good visual at how it might’ve looked. At some times, it got confusing and hard to follow. It shows you from beginning to end while the two other videos started very differently. This video shows more and explains more and I also like how it gives you an eerie feeling. His voice makes you fear what might happen next but also hypnotizes you to continue to watch. I also like the third one because it is short and funny watching a puppet speak as fast as a jet!!
Which one would best help a reader to understand the actual story?
I think video one would slightly be a little confusing but give a better visual and idea of what happened in this story. Even though video two is shorter and easier to understand, it also leaves you hanging at the end which gets you even more confused. Video one tells you how this man felt and why he would kill the old man, it shows you how he killed him and what he did next, and also what exactly happened next. His voice gives you a feel of what kind of guy he is, and gives you a little feeling that he just might be insane.

Favorite Music - Band
Music is a big part of my life! I love listening to music - my favorite type of music is any type of rock.
My favorite band is My Chemical Romance. I’ve known them for over 3 years and they’re music is amazing! There are 5 members in the band
Gerard Way – Lead Vocalist
Michael Way – Bassist
Rey Toro – Lead guitarist
Frank Iero – 2nd guitarist
Bob Bryar – Drums
My Chemical Romance has made 3 albums in the years as a band:
I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love
Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
The Black Parade
In my opinion, My Chemical Romance is very talented and I love listening to them. A couple of songs they made include: The Ghost of you, Helena, I’m Not Okay (I promise), Welcome to The Black Parade, I don’t love you and much more. Their music is a mix or rock.
My Chemical Romance comes from New Jersey except for Bob Bryar who is from Chicago. Growing up for all of the band members was hard because of where they grew up. It is a very crime related area which is why they sing about death a lot. The band formed after the attack of 9/11 when Gerard Way was working as a comic artist and witnessed the attack.
The band had its fair share of ups and downs. Gerard Way was a heavy drinker as well as a drug addict. Without the band he probably wouldn’t be here right now because of his suicidal moods. But all that has changed, and for Gerard it’s a very good achievement.
Knowing this band has also changed my life and what I listen to. They’re absolutely amazing and continue to rock the stage everywhere they go.
